INNES Worldwide Breaks Ground on Tech Innovation Center Near Craiova, Romania
World-Class Facility Expected to Draw Global Enterprises to Southwest Romania to Push the Boundaries of AI, IoT, Blockchain and Cyber Security Technologies
September 1, 2020. Craiova, Romania. Construction begins today on an innovation center near Craiova in Bradesti, Dolj County according to INNES Worldwide LLC. The three building campus will offer 5,000 square meters of space for innovators and entrepreneurs from around the world to build, develop and bring new ideas to market.
INNES Worldwide is the brainchild of Craiova businessman and information technology thought leader Bogdan Stanache. “It’s my dream to bring a world-class structure of this kind to southwest Romania. This region is blessed with great IT talent and is poised to become a global technology powerhouse.” Stanache, INNES CEO, founded his Web Win Group Net group of companies in Craiova in 2009.
Future tenants at INNES Craiova are expected to be a mix of enterprises with an emphasis on information technology companies primarily in the areas of blockchain, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and cyber security. INNES is evaluating prospective companies from the medical, agricultural, automotive and financial services sectors among others.
INNES is presently designing its programming and services for start-up and early stage tenant companies. Stanache says “we are evaluating the world’s best innovation programs and working with industry leaders to create a truly unique experience for INNES companies. We are building a model for innovation that addresses many of the needs so many incubators and accelerators have been unsuccessful in developing.”
Half of the projected 16 tenant companies at INNES will be enterprises originating outside Romania. Washington, DC based INNES Chief Strategy Officer Frank Pietrucha says it’s important for the new innovation center to take a global perspective. “Tomorrow’s big ideas will not be bound by geographical borders. INNES is being designed to unite innovators and entrepreneurs from across the globe with world-class facilities and a fresh outlook.”
INNES is actively building partnership in the United States and elsewhere. Early feedback suggests possible innovation center tenants are enthusiastic about doing business in Romania. A qualified tech workforce, lower wages, lower cost of living and lower taxes were cited as primary reasons. Other enterprises see INNES Craiova as an ideal entry in the European Market.
The cost to construct INNES’s Craiova campus is approximately 8 million Euros. 5.6 million Euros is provided by the European Union and the rest by individual investors. The project is expected to be fully operational within 24 months. INNES is currently evaluating locations for other innovation centers in Central and Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa.
