Blockchain for the Environment
Blockchain can be used as a tool to manage environmental issues more effectively. We are investigating how public, interoperable ledgers can document business and government pollution output on a global and domestic scale. Treaties may become more easily enforceable through these efforts and public awareness of corporate polluters can be heightened. Furthermore, global, blockchain-linked programs can incentivize recycling, safe waste disposal, and other pro-environmental behaviors.
