Quick Infusion Catheter
Rapid resuscitation of critically-ill patients is difficult due to vein vasoconstriction. Peripheral intravenous (PIV) cannulation is needed to administer fluids, medicine and nutrients.
Currently healthcare providers insert a sharp needle and a plastic cannula into the patient’s vein. The problem with this practice is that resuscitation is done either in efficiently with small catheters or too complex and with a high risk of infection.
Our Solution: A concentric design for a large gauge catheter using a small gauge needle greatly improves the situation. The perfusion rate will be six times faster.
