Medical Innovation
Medical innovations can save lives, alleviate human suffering and help eliminate untold billions of dollars of expense. INNES is excited about the new wave of health innovation that’s helping diagnose, prevent, treat and monitor health problems. Big data, Artificial Intelligence, robotic surgery, telemedicine, 3-D printing, to name just a few… are re-shaping health and medicine for the digital age.
Our future holds great promise as we embrace devices that help prevent strokes or monitor patients in real time, or perhaps sort through mountains of patient data in seconds or view their scans with greater precision thanks to Artificial Intelligence. Or, perhaps medical innovation means to some the ability for surgeons to conduct difficult surgeries with their patient on the other side of the world.
Medical innovation is complex, high risk, time-consuming, and above all, expensive. But the stakes are too great to not do everything possible to save lives and treat the suffering. We envision INNES as a place for collaboration to advance medical innovation. Let’s bring together the technologists, the doctors, and the policymakers to breakdown the silos that have stymied progress in the past. Let’s take a fresh, collaborative approach to advancing medical innovation.
Defense Innovation
The focus of research and development in defense innovation is shifting from government labs to private industry. As technologies advance in complexity, the use of private sector providers is needed for governments to keep up with the speed and diversity of innovation.
An assortment of technologies like Artificial Intelligence, robotics, data science, space technology, IoT, cyber security and more are essential to make defense innovation happen. No single government can rely on its own in-house research and development efforts. In this new paradigm, centers like INNES are becoming essential to nurture new military solutions.
A strong NATO member with great tech talent, Romania is poised to play a role in the next generation of defense innovations. INNES looks forward to being part of this growing industry.
